# First Install

Guide on how to set up AdvancedSeasons for first time!

{% hint style="info" %}
Follow steps from first to last - do not skip any steps.
{% endhint %}

### Step 1 - Installing the plugin

1. Stop the server.
2. Make sure your server version is supported - they are listed here <https://advancedplugins.net/item/AdvancedSeasons.185>\
 We recommend using PaperMC or any other paper forks - special optimizations have been implemented with paper due to their improved world processing.
3. Add **AdvancedSeasons.jar** plugin file to your `server/plugins/` folder
4. Add **ProtocolLib.jar** plugin file to your `server/plugins/ folder`\
 (ProtocolLib plugin is available here: <https://www.spigotmc.org/resources/protocollib.1997/>, their latest development builds only support latest minecraft versions: <https://ci.dmulloy2.net/job/ProtocolLib/>)
5. Start the server.

### Step 2 - Enable seasons in your worlds

By default, seasons are not enabled in any of the worlds.

To enabled seasons in your world, be in the world and run `/seasons addworld` command. You must have administrator permissions on the server to run this. Once it's ran, seasons will be enabled, and will start with Spring.

And that's it! It's as simple as this to install and enabled epic seasons on your Minecraft server.
